#151 WHAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PHOTOGRAPHER?

Let’s be honest this is a BIG question and in many respects I’m throwing it out to you so that we can start a two way on this for inclusion in a forthcoming Tuesday or Thursday snapshot edition. I have a little help on this one from some previous guests including Michel Delsol, New York portrait photographer, news agency owner Paul Walters and film maker Vincent Laforet. Some Instagram accounts to take a saunter through and a book perhaps to add to your collection?

FURTHER REFERENCE:
Bill Brandt’s archive, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Brassaï, the American photographer Peter Hujar, the fashion of Guy Bourdin, the work of Nan Goldin, Robert Mapplethorpe and the Instagram accounts of @faazers and @tatsmosc.

Today's show is kindly supported by MPB.com, the place to go if you want to buy, sell and trade quality used camera kit on line. So you're thinking; "Alright Neale, how do I go about selling and trading?" It works like this. You go online at mpb.com. Click the 'sell or trade' menu link in the top left, then just start adding your gear. The site recognises what you're selling and it asks you to grade it; like new, excellent, good, well used, that kind of thing. When you've added your gear you'll get an instant quote. Now the trading part, because this is clever. Underneath your sale items you see a buying section. This is where you add in what you'd like to trade your gear for. Again you can choose a graded condition or if you've already browsed the site and have some reference numbers, you can enter those. You'll either be paying the difference or it may be that MPB are paying you.
