#163 ELTON JOHN, THE ONE WHO GOT AWAY! NEARLY
Meet the photographer Bjoern Kommerell who travelled from Germany to the States to find his creative fortune and I think you can safely say he found it. An energetic, enthusiastic, committed man of photographic experiment, the type of creative who embraces throwing off the shackles of procrastination. Musicians, actors and movie stars regularly grace Bjoern's LA studio and often alone, minus their entourage. His headshot business has created a place where the famous mix with those who don't appear on magazine covers. A two parter starting with his philosophy of shooting portraits.
FURTHER REFERENCES ON THE SHOW TO: Missan Harriman, fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, Paul Cameron, DP for Man on Fire, Mark Romanek (music videos) and Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink.
A patron mention this morning for Andrew Clark, keen Instagrammer who has just exchanged his Canon bridge camera for a FujiFilm XT3 at the beginning of the year for his 40th birthday. See his work @ClarkyGMTPhotography. Thank you to all our patrons who support the show to keep the title growing.
Also today’s show is supported by MPB.com, the number one platform for buying, selling and trading used gear in the States and Europe. I know that I'd find it hard to promote something I don't know or haven't personally used on this channel and I have a strong history personally of using MPB to buy, sell and trade gear - taking away the nightmare scenario that some trading platforms have where you just don't know what you're getting, have no guarantee and often the uncertainty that the kit being advertised is the kit you get. With MPB, when you buy you can click on an item and have a look at the actual kit you're purchasing.
