This image was taken on a dreich August day at Sango Sands on the northern coast of Scotland. Grey, overcast skies and a stiff breeze don't hold much promise for most people, but they make for great photographic conditions on a beach. I spent a very happy couple of hours trying to outrun the waves rushing up the sand as I abandoned my tripod and camera to their fate. I came away with a small handful of images I like, sodden feet, the smell of the sea in my hair and clothes, and the most wonderful sense of wellbeing.
