365:175 MICHAEL DREESE

I captured this image of a Great Blue Heron at the Circle B Bar Preserve near Lakeland, Florida. I used an XF 70-300mm lens at 159mm on my XT3. The settings were f5.6 @1/750 second at ISO 320. Because of the high contrast lighting, I switched over to spot metering, which created a near-black background and highlighted the bird. When the heron twisted its neck to preen its feathers I fired off a burst of shots. I did very little post-processing to the JPEG file which used the Velvia film simulation.
