“Black and white photography erases time from the equation.”

A quote from the incredibly talented black and white photographer Jason Peterson. Hopefully, my image has a timeless quality to it, not only timeless as in the date, year, or century even but also the time of day. This was actually sunset and the mountain in the background (Tryfan) was glowing orange as it soaked up the last rays of the winter sun. I chose to make a black and white version of this composition because in the colour image I feel the eye is drawn to the colour in the background. Where as here we can explore the tones, texture and composition of the water and rocks in the foreground which is the real subject of the image, without distraction.
