365:340 ANNA McCARTHY

Since I purchased my Fuji x100v (literally just a week before the pandemic hit in 2020!) it has inspired and spurred me on once again to pop a camera in my pocket and just take pictures as I did with my very first camera. Not with my working hat on, but purely for the fun and sake of it.

I’m constantly starting off new personal projects only to abandon them for something else in that Toad of Toad Hall kind of a way. This is one such project. Municipal Park Benches.

I’m still not clear on permissions for street pictures and portraits in particular. Most of these gave their consent and some gave me an email to forward the pictures which I did. Some I never heard back from. Some were just happy for me to do it with no requests. Some were caught entirely unaware.

These are shot in Grovesnor Square in central London. People on park benches. It’s all been done before of course but I would like to do the same for seaside shelters, bandstands - that kind of thing - one day.

See more of Anna’s work on Instagram and through her website.
