365:231 LYNN FRASER
I've just returned from a flying visit to see friends on the Isle of Lewis. This image was taken at Callanish IV, or Sron a'Chail as it is officially known, which lies about 2 miles southeast of the much larger and better known Callanish Standing Stones (Callanish I). There are now only 5 stones standing, but there may have been up to 13 originally. Together with the other prehistoric monuments that form the Callanish group of standing stones, cairns and settings, this complex is described as one of the most remarkable Neolithic/Bronze Age site assemblages in NW Europe.
