This is a five image panorama made in the middle of October on the lake where my Father-in-Law's cottage resides. At 92, he's decided not to travel up to his cottage anymore. He did ask if I could make a photo of Begg's Island for him in all of it's Fall colour and glory. We had gone up to close the cottage down for the winter. The first day, the sky was overcast and the water was choppy. I got up before sunrise the next morning and things were perfectly still on the lake. I made 15 panoramas of the island before, during and after sunrise. This image was number 12. As the sun started to illuminate the scene, convection on the lake started, causing the water to start to ripple, which you can see on the right side of the image. It kept getting worse after that.

He was thrilled to receive a print of the image and he has placed it under glass on one of his coffee tables so he can look at it every day.

ISO 100, 68mm focal length on a crop sensor, f/8, 1/20th of a second exposure.
