365:241 PAUL HORNSBY
I’d wanted for quite a while to take a late-night photowalk around my home city of Newport in South Wales. This phone booth seemed to shout at me as an image to take. I think the strange logic of this place seeming desperate and unfriendly, in fact almost hostile, was juxtaposed with the actual phone representing hope and escape from this dystopian and dangerous situation. Anyway, this seemed to register with me. Maybe I’ve got an overdeveloped sense of imagination or feel insecure photographing in city centres on my own at night! Who knows?
