#233 PHOTOWALK: CHERNOBYL IS MY COSY PLACE & OTHER STORIES
It’s the photography podcast edition where we escape together like the end scene from The graduate. Just us, our cameras, earbuds and the mailbag; walking and sharing inspirational stories from photographers around the world. This week we hear from Arthur Bondar, a photographer who chooses to photowalk around Chernobyl, we talk reunions, hear about photographic life in Indonesia right now, think about legacy, emails from the front line and discover a place (a pub) fit for our first post lockdown meet up, plus more.
We’re supported by MPB.com who help you buy, sell and trade used camera gear in the US, the UK and Europe. So you're thinking; "Alright Neale, how do I go about selling and trading?" It works like this. You go online at mpb.com. Click the 'sell or trade' menu link in the top left, then just start adding your gear. The site recognises what you're selling and it asks you to grade it. You get the following choices; like new, excellent, good, well used. When you've added your gear you'll get an instant quote. Now the trading part, because this is clever. Underneath your sale items you see a buying section. This is where you add in what you'd like to trade your gear for. Again you can choose a graded condition or if you've already browsed the site and have some reference numbers, you can enter those. You'll either be paying the difference or it may be that MPB are paying you.
Pictures from our contributors to the show are below. If you’d like to take part by sharing the stories of your own photowalks or photographic experiences and life, I’d love to hear from you. Email: studio@photographydaily.show or of course join in through the Facebook group or become a part of our Patreon supporter’s club.
FURTHER REFERENCE: Martin Ellard, Graham Harries in Chernobyl, Rick Findler in episode 230, Albert Watson’s recent edition, Sean Tucker’s new book, Dani Connor’s squirrel Twitter feed!
Andy Hinson’s sunshine, gails and hail. A good British early summer walk.
Left to right: Raphael D Swift (tree stump), Michael Honkomp (school crossing), Michael Fox (oranges in the basket), Jan Erik Möstrom (forest), John Baseley (tools), Joshua Sidwell (badly parked truck), Roberta Papworth (in the kitchen), Andy Featherston (window frame prepping), Craig Hughes (lathe), Kathryn Cunningham (computer editing), Neil Ford (school testing).
The rumours are true of pubs called ‘The Garibaldi.’ This one was captured by Anna McCarthy and is possibly now the first meet up location for a Photography Daily July Photowalk.
Peter Upton’s Scarborough walk.
My own photowalk pictures from Bagnor this week.
