#71 THE youtube KING OF LANDSCAPE photography

Thomas Heaton, the landscape YouTuber who has inspired thousands of people to take up this honourable pastime pays us a visit to discuss his very honest and authentic style.

And what a four days of guest interviews. This week we’ve talked about impostor syndrome with Anna Hardy, press censorship and the demise of local newspaper photojournalism with Edmond Terakopian, Cathal McNaughton’s chilling tale of ‘The Disappeared’ in Northern Ireland, so I thought we’d end the guest editions this week (with the Photowalk coming of course tomorrow) taking a deep breath and looking at the amazing world of nature around us.

Yesterday I spoke with Adam Karnacz of First Man Photography who is on the show soon. He’s a landscape photographer too and we talked about Thomas Heaton and Charlie Waite, how their calm and approachable manner makes them the success stories they are. And I think it’s this mannerism that makes Thomas such a popular figure in this genre.

They say never meet your heroes, and whilst I wouldn’t necessarily pop Tom in the straight forward hero category, only because he’s neither stepped on the moon or filled the Dodger Stadium with pop fans, I would certainly elevate him right into to the ‘people I expect I’d really like to spend time with in a good old fashioned pub on a rainy night’ category.

Thomas Heaton is the gentleman of landscape photography and the King of Landscape on the YouTube Platform. Today a chance to meet him.
